What Betting Odds Actually Tell You on Today Bet
Two things at once – the implied probability of an outcome and how much you get paid if it happens.
When you see odds of 1.85 next to a team on today bet, that number is doing two jobs at the same time. First, it tells you what the platform considers the approximate probability of that outcome – in this case, about 54%. Second, it tells you how much you earn back for every peso you put in – in this case, ₱185 back for every ₱100 staked, which is ₱85 in profit.
That connection between odds and probability is the foundation of smart betting. A lot of Filipino bettors start out just picking who they think will win and checking the payout afterward. That works sometimes, but understanding what the odds actually mean is what lets you make a real judgment about whether a bet is worth taking. If you think a team has a 60% chance of winning and today bet is offering odds that imply only 50%, that is a genuine edge – a value bet. If you think they have a 40% chance but the odds imply 50%, you're being offered less than what the real probability warrants.
Today bet uses decimal odds as the default format because they're the clearest and most widely used format internationally and in the Philippines. You multiply your stake by the decimal number and the result is your total return including your original stake. Profit is always the decimal number minus 1, multiplied by your stake.
